Music exists for people to enjoy. It is our duty as teachers and pianists to convey this purpose of music.  The responsibility of performers is to communicate the joy of music with the audience during the concert.  However teachers have a much greater responsibility because what we teach will be passed on to the next generation.  Teachers who overlook this aim or even permit their students to forget the joy of music, have failed in the actual purpose of their profession.
